The aim was to make better use of the property’s previously unused roof space by creating a comfortable additional bedroom.
The new layout needed to maximise the available floor area and headroom while incorporating practical storage and plenty of natural light.
The Approach
A dormer conversion provided the additional space required to create a well-proportioned bedroom within the existing roof.
Built-in wardrobes and hidden storage were incorporated into the lower sections of the roof, making practical use of areas with restricted head height while helping to keep the main bedroom open and uncluttered. The original project email specifically identifies the finished joinery as “Wardrobes/ hidden units”, which gives us a little more specificity than the questionnaire alone.
A new staircase provides the connection between the loft and the existing accommodation below.
